Waffle Sandwich

Cornmeal waffles surround apples, ham and cheese to create the ultimate breakfast sandwich!!
This recipe contains , flour (all-purpose), cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, greek yogurt (plain), butter, maple syrup, eggs, egg whites, , deli ham, cheese (cheddar), apples, , mustard (dijon), maple syrup, cooking spray

Ingredients:
- For the waffles:
- 1 cup(s) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup(s) cornmeal
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 cup(s) greek yogurt
- 5 tbsp. melted butter
- 1/4 cup(s) pure maple syrup
- 2 eggs, yolks only
- 2 eggs, whites only (beaten into stiff peaks)
- For the sandwiches:
- 2 - 3 slice(s) slices of ham (per sandwich)
- 1 cup(s) grated cheese (your choice)
- 1 apple (your choice) thinly sliced
- For the topping:
- 1/4 cup(s) dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp. pure maple syrup
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions:
- 1. To make the waffles: Whisk flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda.
- 2. In another bowl mix yogurt, butter, maple syrup and egg yolks.
- 3. Combine flour mixture with wet mixture.
- 4. Beat egg whites, and fold into batter.
- 5. Heat waffle iron.
- 6. Spray with nonstick spray.
- 7. Cook all your waffles.
- 8. For the topping: Combine mustard and 2 tbsp. maple syrup.
- 9. Preheat oven to 350º F
- 10. To create sandwiches: Place 2 waffles on a baking sheet.
- 11. Spread a bit of the topping on each waffle.
- 12. On 1 waffle layer on some cheese.
- 13. Add some slices of apple.
- 14. Add some slices of ham.
- 15. Add another layer of cheese.
- 16. Top with the other waffle (mustard side down).
- 17. Do this to create the remaining sandwiches.
- 18. Place the sandwiches in the oven till the cheese melts.
